Our History
Founded in 1968 by entrepreneurial surveyor, Donald Thallon,
DTS Queensland filled a gap in the market for a team of motivated, skills and highly professional services. 55-years later, we have evolved beyond surveying to become a multidisciplinary service provider, achieving results across sectors.

Ben Richardson

CEO & Co-Director

A qualified cadastral surveyor and business executive, with two decades of experience at DTS, Ben leads the company as CEO and General Manager of Surveying including titling, tenure, spatial data, and location services. Ben has led delivery of projects across regional and southeast Queensland, including mixed use, residential and land development, and resources and agricultural projects.

Nicholas Bailey

Co-Director

Nick brings 20 years of experience to his role as co-Director and General Manager of Planning at DTS. Nick works alongside leading developers and operators, including major urban renewal projects, mixed use villages, master planned communities, and multi-residential projects across southeast Queensland. Nick is an active and founding member of Brisbane City Council’s planning committee.

Planning Manager

Tim brings 20 years of planning experience in both consulting and local government to DTS clients. Tim was the former Coordinator Development Planning at Moreton Bay Regional Council.

Tim is a Registered Surveyor with more than 20 years of experience in multi-residential development, greenfield and master planned communities, industrial and mixed use developments.

Survey Manager

Lauren brings 25 years of experience in surveying to DTS. Her portfolio comprises mixed use, urban renewal, and multi-residential projects across southeast Queensland and internationally in South Africa and the United Kingdom.

Senior Planner

Janesh has more than 20 years of experience in planning and project delivery. His strategic planning and project management expertise extends to large-scale residential developments and all major local government areas of southeast and regional Queensland.

Planning Manager

With more than 15 years of experience in consulting and local government, Scott specialises in industrial, infrastructure, mining, residential and commercial development planning, and was part of Brisbane City Council’s Strategic Planning and Policy team.

Principle Planner

Liam brings 15 years of experience to his role at DTS, specialising in master planned communities, residential and industrial subdivisions, and commercial and industrial development. His portfolio extends beyond southeast Queensland to regional Queensland including Mackay and the Bowen Basin, the Whitsundays and Cairns.
